Well, there are few things more frustrating then when you put time, money and most importantly effort into something and end up back at Square One. That is pretty much where we are now as we have a barn full of maidens yet again.
Colonel Klink has been retired off of his dismal performance today. He just doesn't have it anymore and is being sent to the Illinois Equine Humane Center where he will be adapted out to a good home. They do unbelievable work at ILEHC and BGR strongly believes in doing what is right for these horses when they are telling you it is 'time'. If you are looking for a tax write off, toss them a donation as every little bit helps.
Surfer Rosa and Mizz Liza put in their last works for their respective debuts. Both horses worked well and we are looking forward to their starts late next week.
Tomorrow morning should be very exciting as we are orchestrating our own mini-race at 7:30am with some 2 year olds. Prospect Knight and The Magic Bus will be going in company with another 2 year old of Chucks (Joe the Dude) and an Austin K Smith horse (Wheemaway). Both Wheemaway and The Magic Bus have already worked together and we are looking for The Magic Bus to settle behind horses and finish strong. We should know where both 'Bus and 'Knight are at fitness-wise by 8am tomorrow.
Both Rochelle Rochelle and Gondorf are pointing towards their next starts.
BGR spoke to Arundel earlier in the week and all is well down in Kentucky with our foals and mares. Both foals are pretty close to being weened, especially Top Royelle's filly, she is a very large foal and has developed well. We actually nominated them to the Breeders Cup for a small fee as just in case we get lucky and have the opportunity to run in the BC, it beats coming up with 150k JUST TO RUN!
Congrats to our friend Don Bara who just won the last race at Arlington with his turf sprint warrior, Maneke.
