Big BGR Weekend!!

Well, we have a big weekend on our hands with two horses running (weather permitting) in Kentucky.

Gondorf has been entered and running at Keeneland on Closing Day Saturday. While this is only a MSW race, it has particular appeal in that Lentenor, who is the full brother to 2006 Kentucky Derby winner Barbaro is also entered in this race. Gondorf is in the 5th race(2:05pm CST), being ridden by Chris DeCarlo, and breaks from post #8. We are hoping for a productive learning experience for Gondorf and hoping he gives a good showing of himself

Big Shake is a major question mark for this weekend in that he will only run if his race remains on the turf. He has been entered in the X race going 8.5f on the turf but weather forecasts do not look promising. Given his last race performance and how he has been acting since that race, we should see a good performance and continued improvement.

Rochelle Rochelle had some bad luck as she was excluded from her targeted race. 28 two year old fillies were entered and Churchill Downs decided NOT to split the race. While disappointing because she was the 'for sure' runner this weekend, she is only 2 year olds and missing a race this time of year is unfortuntely one of the bad parts of this game. While they did not put a race on the overnight, it is safe to assume that there will be one on the dirt or turf within the next two weeks there for her and she would receive preference in that spot because of the exclusion.

Rain Rain STAY AWAY!!

Cool Clue RUNS HUGE!!

Cool Clue just restored faith with a determined run in the 1st at Keeneland today. Breaking a step slow, he was wide on both turns and made a real nice move going into the final turn only to flatten out. He was only beaten 3.25 lengths, and because of his wide trip, he travelled 54 feet farther then the winner. Its a great feeling to see a BGR horse run the way he did. Also, a great job by Chuck and his team to have him ready for his first route race.

Gondorf had his final work today in 101/3 today in preparation for his start at Keeneland on Halloween. Chuck said it was a very good final work and he is ready to debut. Looking forward to it.

Rochelle Rochelle also had a very good work for her start at Churchill on Sunday, November 1st. She is pointed towards the MSW on turf going 8.5f but will run regardless of surface.

BGR.com Live!! Upcoming Races

We are pleased to introduce BobGaryRacing.com to all people in the racing community. BGR.com has all the information in regards to our roster, perspective race dates, and our team.

This is the time of the year where when spots are available, you run in them. And even when you want to run, the race has to FILL! This can get very frustrating but the extra time between starts is never a bad thing. This very situation happened with Cool Clue last week as we were trying to enter in a race at Hawthorne but it never filled. We finally found a good spot for him. Cool Clue is running on Sunday in the first race at Keeneland in a 50k Maiden Claimer going 8.5 furlongs. We are hoping for a much improved performance off of his two sprint races at Arlington Park.

Gondorf will be pointing towards his debut at Keeneland in a 7f MSW race. He is ready to run and should benefit from the race experience.

We are praying for no rain in the Louisville area from October 30th till about November 8th as we will be attacking the Churchill Downs lawn with multiple starters. Rochelle Rochelle and Big Shake will be targeted to their 2nd turf races respectively at Churchill Downs on November 1st. Richwood Silver is a potential starter in a nw1 1 mile race on November 4th. This is a step up in class but she has run well every time on the lawn and if it were to rain, that would also be a good thing for us. Good ole Albin has shipped back to Churchill after battling the Chicago October weather hoping for a spot at Hawthorne. That never materialized and Chuck Simon, our trainer, has voiced his preference to enter for a 9 furlong race on November 7th. He has always run well on the lawn for us and we are looking forward to big things from him moving forward.

Hope everyone has a good weekend and Go COOL CLUE!! :)
