BGR gets to close out the Churchill meet strong with two runners and one runner that needs a couple scratches.
Cool Clue makes his dirt debut on Thanksgiving in a 1 turn mile maiden race. His last race was sneaky good being wide the entire trip and he should be extremely competitive in this spot. Chuck has another runner(Normanruth) that he owns also competing in this spot and we are hoping for a 1-2 finish, either way!!
Rochelle Rochelle has been entered for a 9 furlong turf race on Friday but will need some help to be allowed to run. She is 3rd on the AE list in a race that drew 16 entries. This is unfortunately something that connections have to deal with all the time in horse racing, especially at a meet like the Churchill fall meet where people are trying to get as many starts in as possible before winter hits. Hopeful she goes but if not, there is racing for her in Florida.
Big Shake drew the 11 hole on closing day at Churchill. We are once again up against Lentenor, Barbaro's full brother who first took on Gondorf at Keeneland and now Big Shake gets to try his luck against him. Jon Court is aboard for what should be the ideal distance for the Johar colt.
Mizz Liza has had two published works since coming back from a freshening and Colonel Klink has been a handful for the help as he is also coming back from minor surgery. Look for both of them to make their 2010 debuts at Tampa Bay Downs.
Winter plans are currently on their way as Richwood Silver and Cool Clue will be shipping to Philadelphia Park early next week. All other BGR horses will be shipping to Ocala, FL; where Chuck will be wintering at the Classic Mile. Really looking forward to training at the Classic Mile as it should be the ideal winter location for both Chuck, and the Bob Gary Racing operation.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!

Ultimate Equipment Change
Well, Albin is scheduled for what is deemed 'the ultimate equipment change in sports'. Given his antics in the paddock, post parade, and the start of the race, Chuck has advised that Albin be gelded. Gelding a colt is considered when they become unruly or do not listen to the rider during the race. This should grab his attention and hopefully bring out the potential that he shows. He should be ready for a race down at Tampa Bay near Christmas time.
Rochelle Rochelle ran a great race on Thursday finishing a closing 4th. She was green coming down the stretch but when she switched leads she really took off and missed 3rd by a nose. Jesus Castanon told us that she was busy looking at everything and once she focused she split horses with confidence and really finished well.
Cool Clue and Richwood Silver had to miss their scheduled starts as they had a minor setback in training. While both horses could have ran, they were not 100% ready to go. Given the 2nd condition book has just come out, we should be able to make a race towards the end of the Churchill meet with both of them.

Races Galore!!
The horse racing industry is pretty amazing sometimes. What I mean by this is that you can go weeks without a runner and all you think about is a specific next race for a certain horse, and then when that race comes up, it doesn't fill, the weather stinks, etc.....Well, unfortuntely we have had some of that luck, but it looks like it is turning for the better. Three runners in the next three days at Churchill Downs will cure the 'No action blues'.
Rochelle Rochelle is running Thursday (11/5) at Churchill on the lawn going two turns for the first time. We are hoping that the stretchout will unlock some of the talent she has shown in the morning. Her breeding suggests she should take to it well.
Richwood Silver finally got some luck for Saturday's race as she drew the 3 hole. Breaking from the far outside post last time, she had a no chance trip and with a better post this time, and what is considered her best trip (two turn 1 mile on lawn), she should put in a really good performance. It is a class hike though but her speed can be deadly in a race like this.
Albin also runs on Breeders Cup Saturday in the last race. Originally spotted for a race at Hawthorne, he was scratched because of weather and while considering the Fairgrounds, Chuck felt that the distance at Churchill would be better for him. Lucky for us as the Fairgrounds didn't use his race, and we got a good post, should have good weather, and finally, the most important, a good performance. He has been knocking on the door at Arlington the whole summer and looks to be in a good spot here. His 9f race at Arlington was a very good race and we are hoping to get a nice stalking trip off of the horses that are going two turns for the first time and get first run.
Good luck to everyone this weekend in your wagers on the Breeders Cup, for anyone playing, some longshots to consider...
Juvenile Filles: #1 Zilva (30/1)
Turf Sprint: #5 Get Funky(20/1), #8 Square Eddie (20/1)
Juvenile: #11 Radiohead (15/1)
Turf Mile: #9 Gladiatorus (20/1)
Mile: #10 Ready's Echo (20/1)
Classic: #6 Richard's Kid (12/1)

Weekend Recap
The weekend had both positives and negatives as we had a couple horses run, one horse got into a race and two others ready to enter.
Gondorf received a great education on Saturday in his first race at Keeneland. He broke a step slow, settled and was listening to the rider, when he was about to make his run, a horse drifted out into him and he ran evenly throughout the stretch. Look for him to be in a two turn MSW at Churchill towards the end of November.
Big Shake came out of his race at Churchill on Sunday pretty beat up and we are going to lay him up for a while, with a focus on Tampa Bay Downs at the start of the year.
Rochelle Rochelle has been entered at Churchill Downs for Thursday. She is in the 5th race (1:36pm CST) and has jockey Jesus Castanon aboard. This is her two turn debut and we are looking forward to seeing her run as the field came up pretty light.
Albin worked 4f in 49'4 as what was a maintenance breeze. Chuck really liked his work as it was termed "The best work I have seen from him on dirt, ever'. He is pointed towards a 9f MSW turf event on Breeders Cup Saturday at Churchill Downs. Richwood Silver also is ready to go and has a couple options to enter for races on Friday and Saturday.
