First off, lets wish a Happy Birthday to all of the BGR equines, and all of the horses that were born in North America. It is an exciting time of the year as the yearlings turn 2, 2 year olds turn 3, and the 3 year olds officially become 'older' horses.
Happy New Year to all of our friends and family. BGR had what would be considered a roller coaster 2009. We are hoping for a prosperous 2010 within racing and in life.
As far as the horses are concerned, we should be active within January. Cool Clue is our first runner of 2010. Quite honestly, he has been the most confusing horse that we have dealt with so far. Big Shake finally drew into a race and he has been made the morning line favorite. While our Tampa friends tell us that the ML maker is the worst in North America, he is in a pretty good spot and should run well.
Richwood Silver has been sitting on go but we have had problems getting a race to fill. Philly's incliment weather along with cancellations has wrecked havoc on entries and plans.
Rochelle Rochelle and Albin should run towards the 2nd week of January. Albin's race was quite a disappointment last time but it was his first race back off 45 days and being gelded so this next race he should be nice and fit and he should be back to his level. Rochelle Rochelle had a lights out work on Xmas Eve and is another that has had issues getting into a race. January 10th looks like a potential spot for her.
Colonel Klink, Mizz Liza and Gondorf are all making their way back from minor injuries and have the potential to be ready towards the end of the month.
Appoint and Graphite Halo have made their way down to Florida and will resume training at the start of the year. Both will point towards a March return to the race.
All of the two year olds have made their way down to Florida with Shane Tripp and have heard that Surfer Rosa is very well mannered, while Mr Mojo Risin is 'a little hot between the ears'. I would expect nothing less from him.
Have a safe and fun New Years Eve and good luck in 2010.

BGR Invades Philly Park!
We have two runners at Philly Park this weekend in Cool Clue and Richwood Silver. Cool Clue runs Friday, December 18th, in the 6th race going 1 mile and 70 yards. We are looking forward to seeing him run in this spot. Richwood Silver runs Sunday in the 4th race going 1 mile. It looks to be a very good spot for her and we were able to attain Tony Black, who is a 27% jockey for both mounts. He is known for his uncanny ability to get a speed horse home. Richwood is most definitely that!
Down in Florida, the horses are all getting ready for their first work down there or their next race. Mizz Liza worked today going 4 furlongs in 50.20 in what Chuck described as a very deep tiring surface. We are hoping to find a race for her in the 2nd condition book at Tampa Bay Downs. Albin readied himself with some interval training going up and down hills within a huge field at the Classic Mile Park. He is targeted for a race on the 23rd at Tampa. It is also reported that he, along with Big Shake (targeted Dec 26th race) have been loving the turnout paddocks and both of them have found every possible piece of mud within their respective paddocks.
Gondorf has been getting over some dental work and another minor aliment and we are hoping to have him ready to go the first or second week of January. Colonel Klink is readying for what should be a mid January return to the races, we are hoping for some good weather so we can take advantage of the ability to work over the Classic Mile Park turf course. Rochelle Rochelle is doing good and while we missed a race for her on the 16th due to clerical error, it may have been a blessing as there is another hopefully less competitive race towards the end of the December.
Have a good holiday season,
BGR
