Well, it is the time of the year where chaos happens and horse flesh and human flesh move south for the winter. While Kentucky essentially shuts down for the winter, we will be doing things a little unorthodox as we have decided to send the bulk of our racing horse flesh to Parx Racing at Philly Park. Gondorf, Big Shake, and Surfer Rosa will join Mr Mojo Risin and Albin and stable at the Classic Mile in Ocala, Florida for the winter
Prospect Knight had victory snatched from him at the late stages of today's 6th race at Philly Park. Chuck, our trainer, noted that he was doing really well and thought he would run huge, and more times then not when you have a 3 length lead at the 1/16th pole at Philly you are gonna get home but he just got a little tired at the end and we will bring him back to run on the 20th before he gets a little vacation down in Ocala.
The Magic Bus is scheduled to arrive at Philly on Friday as we target a maiden race for him on December 10th. Today's work went really well and he has comes out of his maiden voyage well. He should run a more complete race with now knowing what racing is about.
Rochelle Rochelle came back from her layoff to run a much the best race two weeks ago, only to finish 2nd to a horse that got a perfect trip. Her, along with Prospect Knight, will be well spotted for their next races and both should go off as favorite.
Big Shake came out of his race in good order and the race did him alot of good. Amazingly, there were many positives to come from a last place finish. The speed that he showed was a surprise, and he had some grit at the 1/4 pole only to stop on his less then preferred surface. He will return down at Tampa Bay Downs on New Years Eve.
Mizz Liza didn't take to the east coast all that well this time around and she will go down to Ocala with a couple of Chuck's 2 year olds and get a quick break and she will run once at Tampa as a conditioner, and then be ready to have a successful spring.
Surfer Rosa returns this week from her little break and sickness and she will point towards a late January start at Tampa Bay Downs.
Chuck was hesitant to work Gondorf today because of track condition. We have him in good order and given his feet can be an issue at times, we have decided to get to Florida and work him over the lawn a couple times before his start at Tampa Bay Downs.
We are eagerly awaiting for Chuck to start training Mr Mojo Risin and for the return of Albin. Both horses are currently in full training with Shane Tripp and will arrive with Chuck next week sometime and we are hoping to debut Mr Mojo Risin towards the end of January.
Top Royelle (pregnant to Cactus Ridge) and Wundelia (pregnant to Yes Its True) are en route to a farm near St. Louis. They need to be in Illinois by December 1st for the foals to be considered Illinois breds. Both mares should foal within the first two weeks of March. Afterwards foals, they will go back to Kentucky to their home, Arundel Farm.
Hope everyone has a good holiday season.
