Everyone continues to do really well here at Arlington Park as we are steadily getting back to a normal amount of runners. All the horses look great and are training well for their prospective spots.
Cool Clue has been entered in the same condition off his 2nd place finish and looks to be in a decent spot. While the race has some horses dropping in class, Clue should be much fitter 2nd off his minor layoff and has looked great in the morning.
Colonel Klink is also being entered in the same condition on Memorial Day. He put in a really good 35.60 work this morning, which was meant to get him sharp. ET Baird has the call as we try and shake some things up with the big horse.
Appoint ran a disappointing 4th place finish yesterday at Indiana Downs. We are not sure what the future entails for the restricted stakes placed filly.
Gondorf continues to move forward to his turf debut on June 5th at Arlington Park. His work last week was very good considering we worked with an above average sprinter and we stayed with him, while we are a turf router. He is plenty fit and has his final work on Thursday before his debut in 11 days
Planning in this game is very hard as you are consistently analyzing where a horse is both mentally, physically and at a fitness level. We had planned to run Rochelle Rochelle this Sunday in what was going to be a 'turn the light on' type race for her next race going a route of ground. She just isn't ready and Chuck has decided he would rather train her up to a start in the middle of June.
Mizz Liza is almost ready to put in her first actual work as she has been galloping steadily for a month. She looks unbelievable, her coat is shiny and the time off has really let her mature into her body. She has turned into an absolutely massive filly.
The two year olds put in their first works over the Arlington surface. Chuck was ear to ear with how they went.
Surfer Rosa worked with a Smarty Jones colt of Chuck's and a Victory Gallop gelding trained by Austin Smith. She was on the rail and really dug in and galloped out strong. She looks the part and a possible end of June start in a sprint race.
The Magic Bus and Prospect Knight went in company which was suppose to be a 2f work but the clocker ended up getting it for 3 furlongs. They went absolutely great. Extremely professional when it came to lead changes and striding forward. The increased training for Prospect Knight has done him alot of good as he tends to play around alot in the mornings. While The Magic Bus loves looking at the video screen, we tell each other it is just so he can catch a glimpse of himself. Both will work on Saturday as they continue to gain experience and fitness towards starts sometime this summer.
Report from Shane in Ocala is that all three horses down there are doing good. Big Shake has been turned out at Shane's farm for 15 days. Mr Mojo Risin is doing much better and both him and Big Shake will arrive July 1st at Arlington. Albin continues to be on stall rest and should be getting his sutures out soon.
Should be an interesting next 12 days with races from Clue, Klink and unleashing Gondorf on the world. Hoping for a couple pictures.
